Program Design & Evaluation

Non-profit organizations exist to provide essential services and programs. We call them “mission-driven” organizations because they have a distinct purpose, fill certain needs, and in general, strive to make the world a better place.

Because mission-driven organizations are always expected to do more with less, program design and evaluation are essential. Effective program design always includes plans for monitoring implementation and determining outcomes.

RJAE Consulting helps non-profits answer these kinds of questions:

  •  How does this program align with your mission?

  • What do you want to accomplish?

  • How will you define and measure success?

  • How will you monitor implementation to ensure the program is executed as planned?

  • What are your strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities?

  • Who are all of your stakeholders, and what do they expect from you?

  • What are the benefits of the services/programs you provide? How do you know?

Becoming Trauma-Informed

Today, more people understand the profound impact unhealed trauma has on us. ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) lead to life-long mental and physical health problems, and collective trauma (racial, climate, natural disaster) can change how entire communities live and behave. More organizations - especially those who provide services to traumatized people - are learning to become trauma-informed themselves. What does this mean? It means we look at your structure - your operations - your policies - your organizational behavior - to explore how every aspect of your organization can be trauma-informed. This is not only better for your clients, it’s better for your entire staff. Want to know more?
