RJAE Consulting Workshops

Keynotes and Workshops for Change-minded Schools & Organizations

RJAE Consulting offers a wide variety of keynote topics and workshops – but all have one thing in common – they are ultimately about building relationships. Healthy relational ecologies are key to creating schools, programs, and organizations capable of delivering results. If you don’t see a topic for you, contact RJAE Consulting, and let’s talk about how we can meet your needs.

Awesome Programs, Happy Stakeholders!

Clients, participants, funders, staff, program managers and the community all want the same thing – programs that demonstrate VALUE and deliver what they promise. To do that, you need to make sure you know what you want to achieve, what it will take to get there, and how you will know what you’ve accomplished. Our program design workshop is hand-on! We will help you develop your Theory of Change and map out a program design using logic models that include plans for monitoring and evaluation. This workshop is 3-6 hours, depending on your time and budget.

 Building Your Capacity for Evaluation

You don’t have to be a professional evaluator to think evaluatively. You just have to know the right questions to ask, learn a little about collecting and analyzing data, and most importantly, learning how to use data to inform your next steps. This is not about big studies, end results, and long, boring reports. This is about how people within an organization can collect and use data on an ongoing basis so that you are constantly learning, improving, adjusting, and doing what you do better. That’s your goal, right?

Dialogue Circles: Learning to Speak and Listen from the Heart

Circles of Dialogue are based on the traditional ways of Indigenous people. Circles offer a way for people to connect, acknowledge our humanness and interconnectedness, and work in ways that are healing and in the best interest of all. My Circle workshops are tailored to specific audiences. I work with evaluators, educators, artists – anyone who wants a better way of living, communicating, working and being. The Circle has universal application and is unbounded. Let’s talk about how you can learning to use Circles in your life and practice. Workshops can be 3 hours to 2 days, depending on how deep you are willing to go into this life-changing practice.

Restorative Justice in Education: Theory, Practice, Implementation & Scale-up

Based on my book, Creating Restorative Schools, I can speak to RJ philosophy, values and practices, and help you plan for school-wide and district-wide implementation. We address learning, pedagogy, 3-tiered system of support, integration with other initiatives, implementation science, and monitoring/evaluation. In this keynote presentation, you’ll learn how to look at the big picture and move beyond RJ as a response to discipline.

Trauma-Informed Practices

Are you aware of how much trauma impacts the brain and our behavior? According to the CDC, almost 30% of the population has experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience that results in trauma. Trauma not only has long-term impacts on our health, but also influences how we think and act in our homes, workplaces, and schools. In this workshop, you will learn what trauma is, what unhealed trauma does, and what it means to operate with a trauma-informed lens. I tailor this workshop to specific audiences and its applications are universal. I frequently combine this workshop with Circles because Circles can be a trauma-informed practice. It is essential that schools implementing restorative practices do so through a trauma-informed lens.

Martha,
Thank you again for an excellent workshop. We all got so much out of it and it is really nice to see all of the teaching artists working together and connected. It’s going to be a great project! We appreciate your dedication and support.
